Molly Mutt Dog Bed Duvet Cover

You opened the box and I smelled fabric softener and something that might have been from a warehouse in Ohio. I was cautiously interested until I realized you were trying to put it on my actual bed.

Dad

Okay, I bought this. You were there when I opened the box. What did you think?

Boldo

The cardboard smelled better. But when you actually put the cover on my bed, I could tell the inside cushion was still mine, which matters. The fabric itself smells new-ish. Plasticky. Not threatening, but not inviting either.

Dad

Let's talk about the smell. I know that's your main thing.

Boldo

That's fair. Right now it's all factory. After three days of me sleeping on it, the smell is getting betterβ€”more like my actual bed underneath, less like a store shelf. If you washed it before putting it on, that would've helped. Did you? No, I remember. You didn't.

Dad

You've had some time with it now. Is it any good?

Boldo

It's fine. The cover is thick, doesn't tear easy, and when the cat walked across my bed yesterday and I could actually remove the cover and wash it instead of just accepting cat hair forever, I thought that was smart. She didn't even walk on her own bed. She knew better. Anyway, is that chicken I hear from the kitchen?

Dad

I paid around forty dollars for this. Be honest. Worth it?

Boldo

If you have a dog and a functioning washing machine, yeah. My old bed was getting gross and you were avoiding replacing it. This keeps the actual bed clean. The cover comes off in maybe ten seconds. That's not nothing. Could've been cheaper, but you spent worse money before.

Dad

Final answer. Would you recommend this to other dogs?

Boldo

I don't know other dogs. But I'm not trying to peel it off anymore, and I actually want to lay on it most mornings. That's the review. It works. You'll forget about it, which means it's doing its job.

4 out of 5 poos. Didn't expect to care. Turns out machine-washable beds are a genuine upgrade.
