Nylabone Dura Chew Power Chew Toy
You brought home a plastic stick that smells like absolutely nothing. That's the problem I see here, but I'll give it a shot.
Dad
I saw this one online and thought it looked good. What's your first reaction?
Boldo
It's beige. It's rigid. No smell coming off it whatsoever. I can tell already this is going to rely on texture, not on anything actually interesting. Is there a treat involved with this conversation?
Dad
You've been staring at it for ten minutes now. What's the verdict on smell?
Boldo
There is none. It smells like a plastic factory. I can smell the cat's food from the kitchen from here, so my nose works fineβthis thing just has nothing. I'm not saying that's a dealbreaker, but it's a strike against it.
Dad
Now that you've actually used it, what do you think?
Boldo
Okay, fine. The texture is better than expected. It's got ridges, and there's actual resistance when I chew. Doesn't collapse immediately like some toys. It's held up for three days now, which I didn't anticipate. Not soft, not satisfying in the way something with a real smell would be, but... it works.
Dad
The cat hasn't touched it. Does that mean something?
Boldo
It means the cat has standards even lower than mine. That thing is too big and boring for her. She wants toys that squeak or rattle. This is just durable, which is apparently a dog problem, not a cat problem. Speaking of the cat, she knocked over a plant earlier and Dad hasn't noticed yet.
Dad
Rate it. One to five. You know the scale.
Boldo
Four poos. I didn't expect to rate this as high as I did. It doesn't inspire excitement, it smells like nothing, and it's not entertaining to look at. But it lasts, it's safe to chew, and I've genuinely gone back to it multiple times. That counts for something.

Boldo's Verdict
π©π©π©π©4 out of 5 poos. No smell and no personality, but it actually survives what you throw at it.
