ThunderShirt Classic Dog Anxiety Jacket
You came home with a blue compression thing and immediately I knew this was about me being weird during storms. I was not interested.
Dad
Okay. New thing. What do you think?
Boldo
It's a jacket. For anxious dogs, apparently. I don't need a jacket. I need you to stop leaving the house.
Dad
I'm going to need more than that. How does it smell?
Boldo
Like nylon and manufacturing. Neutral. No meat involved. It smells like something that was sitting in a warehouse for six months. Why does everything you buy smell like that?
Dad
You seemed reluctant to try it. What happened when you did?
Boldo
I stood still while you wrapped it around me like I was a burrito. It was tight. Too tight. Then I realized I could still walk and it wasn't actually choking me. The pressure is... not terrible. During the last storm I was still nervous but I gnawed on my bed less. I noticed the cat doesn't have one of these, which seems unfair given how little she freaks out anyway. Can we get treats now?
Dad
Anything about this that actually impressed you? Be honest.
Boldo
It's well-made. The velcro doesn't tear immediately like other things you've bought. The fit is snug but not suffocating. When I'm wearing it I feel... contained. Like someone put their hand on my shoulders. I'm not saying I love it. But after the Fourth of July last year when I destroyed the living room, I haven't destroyed anything while wearing this. That counts for something.
Dad
Final verdict. Don't hold back.
Boldo
It works. I still don't want thunderstorms to exist, but this makes them slightly less catastrophic. You'll use it a handful of times a year unless you live in a chaotic state with constant fireworks, which you don't. Worth the money if your dog is as dramatic as I am about weather. I'm not thrilled about wearing it, but I'm not fighting you about it either.

Boldo's Verdict
💩💩💩💩4 out of 5 poos. Skeptical at first. Actually calms me down. That's worth admitting.
