You didn't look thrilled when I brought this home. First impressions?

I already told you. It smells like a factory and nothing else. No history. No previous dog's breakfast residue. Just blank stainless steel and disappointment. At least the old bowl had character.

Dad

Tell me about the texture. I know you have opinions about texture.

Boldo

It's smooth. Too smooth. My nose slides around when I'm eating and it's disorienting. The rubber base grips okay, I guess, but the bowl itself feels like licking a car door. Not unpleasant. Just sterile. Speaking of which, is that bacon I smell from the kitchen?

Dad

So it's been a few days. Have your feelings changed at all?

Boldo

Fine. It's growing on me. Food tastes the same out of stainless steel as anywhere else, which is obvious but I had to test it. It doesn't scratch up like the ceramic did. And it's actually easy to clean—I've watched you rinse it. I'm not saying it's good. I'm saying it's functional.

Dad

The cat got one of these too. I'm curious what you make of that.

Boldo

You bought the cat the same bowl? That's a terrible idea. Now I have to make sure my bowl doesn't touch hers. The cat's been smug about it all morning, like she somehow won. She didn't win. She just got the same thing I did. Though I notice her bowl looks slightly smaller. That's different at least.

Bottom line — poo emojis. How many?

Four. It does exactly what a bowl is supposed to do. It holds food. It doesn't tip. It won't shatter. I thought it was going to be terrible and it turned out to be actually decent. That's not enthusiasm. That's just honest assessment.
