Vetri-Science Laboratories Omega 3 for Dogs
Dad pulled out a bottle of fishy-looking pills. I immediately assumed it was another one of his attempts to make me smell less like a dog. I was not wrong.
Dad
Okay, new thing. What do you think?
Boldo
You brought home a bottle of dead fish. That is not a toy. That is not a treat. But the smell is⦠interesting. Not bad, not good. Just very present. Like a dock in summer. I reserve judgment.
Dad
I'm going to need more than that. How does it smell?
Boldo
It smells like the inside of a bait shop. And also like the kitchen cabinet where you hide the vitamins. I sniffed the bottle for a solid minute. The cat walked by and sneezed. That was the highlight so far.
Dad
You seemed reluctant to try it. What happened when you did?
Boldo
You put one of those softgels in my bowl like it was a surprise. I stood there. Stared at it. Licked it once. Then the fishy oil leaked out and I decided maybe I could work with this. I ate it. It was not terrible. Possibly acceptable. Do you have any actual treats, though?
Dad
Anything about this that actually impressed you? Be honest.
Boldo
I don't like admitting this, but after a few days my coat did feel less like a scrub brush and more like something you'd pet without flinching. Also my joints didn't creak as much when I got up from my bed. Fine. It works. But the cat didn't get any. That made me like it more.
Dad
Final verdict. Don't hold back.
Boldo
Four poos. I didn't want to like a fish-oil pill, but it's the least objectionable medicine you've ever given me. My coat is soft, my old bones feel okay, and the cat is jealous. Keep buying it. But also buy me a real treat to go with it.

Boldo's Verdict
π©π©π©π©4 out of 5 poos. I didn't want to like fish oil, but now my coat is shiny and the cat is bitter. That's a win.
