I saw this one online. Thought it looked good. Your first reaction?

It smells medicinal. Not terrible, but not the smell of anything I'd actually want to roll in. There's something vaguely herbal in there. Could be oatmeal. I don't trust oatmeal.

Dad

Okay, you've been staring at it for ten minutes. What's the verdict on smell?

Boldo

I've upgraded my opinion slightly. The oatmeal smell gets less aggressive after a minute. There's also something minty underneath that doesn't make me want to sneeze. It's clinical. Like the vet's office smells. Which means it probably works, but it's not inviting me to investigate further.

Dad

Now that you've actually used it — what do you think?

Boldo

You washed me with it yesterday and I'm not itching as much. My skin feels less angry. The lather is fine, nothing special, and it rinsed out completely which is important because I hate that sticky residue feeling. Wait, is that bacon I smell from the kitchen? Are you making bacon?

Dad

The cat hasn't touched it. Does that mean something?

Boldo

The cat won't touch anything that doesn't smell like tuna or dominance. That cat has terrible judgment. The fact that it's ignoring this shampoo tells me nothing. I'm more concerned that I haven't seen it knocking the bottle off the counter yet, which means it's probably boring to her. That's actually a good sign for us.

Dad

Rate it. One to five. You know what the ones are.

Boldo

Four. It does what it says. My skin is calmer. The smell is tolerable and doesn't linger on my coat like some of those perfumed disasters you've tried. It's not exciting, but I'd rather have something that actually works than something that smells like a birthday cake. Don't expect me to be happy about bath day, though. I still hate that.
